European SLAS 2024 International Conference and Exhibition

mai 27 - 29, 2024

A propos de l'événement

The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) is an international professional society of academic, industry and government researchers as well as developers and providers of laboratory automation and screening technology. An important part of their mission is connecting laboratory technology providers—like us here at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences—with you.

The SLAS International Conference and Exhibition is their flagship event where thousands of scientists, researchers, academics, and government lab professionals from around the world will gather to learn, share and collaborate.

Integrating & Automating Your Lab, One Workflow at a Time

We look forward to seeing you at SLAS2024 and hearing all about the discoveries you’ve made in the lab over the past year. We’ve been hard at work, too, and are excited to introduce you to solutions that can help you:

  • Reduce assay volumes and consumables use
  • Use massive data sets to design and screen complex plasmid constructs
  • Enhance and accelerate cell line development culture and clone ranking
  • Screen microbial strains, cultivation media and bioprocess conditions faster
  • Reduce gene assembly cost

A Sneak Peek at What Will be on Display

Biomek i7 Automated Workstation

Featuring state-of-the-art automation technology, Biomek i-Series Automated Workstations offer unparalleled efficiency and versatility, making it a go-to solution for the most demanding laboratory workflows like next-generation sequencing (NGS), synthetic biology, genomic research, proteomics, drug discovery, sample management, and functional screening. The Biomek i7 Automated Workstation is designed to optimize dependability and walk-away time in mid- to high-throughput labs.

Echo Acoustic Liquid Handlers - Beckman Coulter

Echo 655T & Echo 525 Acoustic Liquid Handlers

Unlike traditional liquid handlers, Echo acoustic liquid handlers use sound energy to precisely transfer liquid—without contact, pipette tips, nozzles or tubing.

The Echo 655T liquid handler enables high-throughput, acoustic transfer of samples and reagents in volumes as low as 2.5 nL.

Designed specifically for biochemical and genomic assays, the Echo 525 Liquid Handler provides the accuracy and precision you need to improve assay reliability and data quality.

Access Integrated Systems

The Access Single Robot System (SRS) and the Access Dual Robot System (DRS) are compact, modular, high-capacity, and high-throughput platforms, designed and optimized for the use of Echo Liquid Handlers in sample management workflows. They enable the production of assay-ready plates from acoustic sample tubes. The systems combine industry-leading devices and software with ergonomic and environment management options to provide a complete, easy-to-use, store-to-assay sample management solution.

Expanding the Capabilities of Liquid Handling Platforms & Integration with Interface Robotics

10:45 – 11:00 a.m. | Exhibition Theatre

In her solutions spotlight talk—at 10:45 on Wednesday, May 29—Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Kerstin Thurow will be discussing how the functionality of liquid handling platforms has expanded to incorporate additional devices for various process steps, including incubations, centrifugations, tempering, solid phase extractions and the integration of optical measurement methods. She’ll also explore the latest advancements in liquid handling platforms and interface robotics.

Juan Camilo Estrada

Juan Camilo Estrada,
Head of Analytical Development,

Laboratory Automation and Miniaturization to Overcome the Challenges of Quality Control in ATMPs

11:00 – 11:15 a.m. | Exhibition Theatre

VIVEbiotech, as a CDMO of gene therapy products, is at the forefront of integrating new technologies and automation to enhance the analytical characterization and release of lentiviral products. By integrating a Biomek i5 automated liquid handler and microfluidic technology, they have successfully automated and miniaturized both purity and potency assays, which are critical aspects for product release.

During the talk, Dr. Juan Camilo Estrada (VIVEbiotech's Head of Analytical Development) will present case studies showcasing how these technologies have significantly improved the quality, efficiency, and reliability of analytical results for functional and physical lentiviral titer.
